Hotel Miramare is a charming small hotel on the Bay of Naples and situated between the San Carlo Theatre and Castel dell'Ovo - the castle which marks the spot of the original Greek town and first known inhabitants in Naples around the 8th century BC. Across the Bay is a spectacular view of the volcano, Vesuvius, which destroyed the cities of Pompei, Herculaneum, and Villa Oplontis in 79AD.

This part of town enables you to feel a connection with Naples' past, and enjoy its present by visiting its nearby shopping centers. The most elegant is located on Via Calabritto, Via del Mille, and around Piazza dei Martiri, where you can purchase clothing and goods made by famous Italian designers such as Valentino, Versace, Armani, and Ferragamo. For those interested in shopping for traditional souvenirs, Naples is well known for their nativity sets and figurines found on Via San Gregorio Armeno in the historical part of town. Less "pricey", well-made Italian goods and clothing can be found in Vomero - a cable car ride up the hill.
