To run a restaurant in the name of Alberto Kappenberger requires something out of the ordinary: a setting that is witness to Kappenberger's enthusiasm for Arne Jacobsen's design, and a gastronomic level with corresponding new concepts that reflect a highly innovative hotelier and gourmet.

The Alberto K at The Royal is indeed unique. Here, fine Scandinavian raw materials are united with all that is best from the new Italian kitchen. An untraditional Scandinavian-Italian symbiosis for those who appreciate the love for ingredients and care in preparation manifest in everything we offer, right from homemade durum bread to the lobster landed the same morning in Thyborøn.

We see the charm of juxtaposing ham from Parma and its well-smoked counterpart from Løgumkloster; of enhancing Danish rabbit with truffle oil from Umbria; of mixing spring cabbage with polenta, and Danish lump fish with Tuscan rosemary. And the wine we serve with them is brought from the cream of Italian vineyards – from friends who wish us well.

It is with delight we devote our culinary expertise to the preparation of this gastron-omic alliance between North and South. This is our specialty and we hope that the tastes and flavours it engenders will be as outstanding as the view from the restaurant-ant windows.
