Although appearing simply from the outside, the inside of the cathedral is stunning with countless statues, intricately carved pulpit, and pink marble columns. If the cathedral is of interest to you, make sure and book your vacation to accommodate the annual Bruckner Festival (a celebration of Anton Bruckner, church organizer for 12 years), which takes place at the cathedral.
Also found in Linz is the Landhaus, which serves as headquarters to the Upper Austrian government. Originally built in 1570, the building boasts of a graceful courtyard surrounding a fountain. The sight, originally used as a university, is celebrated as the place where John Kepler, the famous astronomer and mathematician, taught his theories.
